Onkruid wieden?
Onderstaande stukje kwam ik tegen in Safe Strategies for Financial Freedom. Wat mij vooral ervan aanspreekt is dat via een metafoor erg mooi wordt aangegeven waarom je juist verliezen moet willen nemen:
Investing is a lot like gardening – if you pull the small weeds every day, (…), you end up with a wonderful garden full of beautiful plants. Small weeds haven’t had time to grow big roots and so it takes very little effort to remove them from your garden. However, if you ignore the weeds and let them grow large, they become very hard to pull out. The time you spend dealing with these tough weeds diverts your attention from the plants that are bearing fruit, making the time spent weeding even less productive. Worst of all, the big weeds can ruin your garden. In a similar way, losing positions are the weeds of your investment portfolio. If you consistently eliminate these losing investments while they are still small, you can maintain a beautiful and profitable portfolio.
